Lesja Chernish was born and raised in Kiev.
She studied fashion design at the Academy of Arts in Kiev and animation at the Film University in Babelsberg. She is now based in Berlin, where she has chosen to live and work for the past 26 years – ten of which have been successfully spent as an illustrator. Her images inspired by the world of femininity are self-confident yet reserved. They express desire and afford a view of interior landscapes. Lesja works with both analogue and digital tools. Her favourite colour is black, her favourite subject women.
