Jindrich Novotny was born in Louny in the Czech Republic and now lives in Hanover.
His journey as an illustrator began when he was a small boy. Impressed by the elegance and expression of the illustrations in old adventure books, Jindrich began to draw. At school he designed flyers, posters, album covers, T-shirts and comics. Jindrich studied graphic design in Hildesheim and has been illustrating for renowned newspapers, notable magazines and various agencies ever since. He is inspired by everyday scenes: film sequences, random phrases and faces. For his lifelike illustrations he uses graphite, coloured pencils, acrylic and tusche.
